The spirit of Christmas will be all over Porto this spectacular season of the year; from 30th November till 22 December, artists from different parts of the world will sprinkle joy and merriment all over the Invicta.

A special showcooking will let you in yummy gluten free recipes at Bolhão Temporary Market, starting at 11am, on 23rd November. As usual, entrance is free.

The city will have two active natural ice rinks: from 30th November to 12th January, one in Mouzinho de Albuquerque Square (aka Rotunda da Boavista) and another in Praça D. João I. If tradition is your thing, ice-skating is a must-do. What could be more fun than gliding like swans on ice?

The Xmas tree is already up at Avenida dos Aliados, in Porto and the Municipality of Porto invites everyone to see inside the tree as merry events will bring a free festive trail of events for the younger generation. The magical events kick off on 1st December.

The Alameda Shop & Spot, in Porto, showcases a caricature exhibition of Heywood "Woody" Allen, best known for his films and his long career in Hollywood. The display is on show till 30th November, at the "Art Spot" gallery, on the 3rd floor.

Circus returns to Coliseu Porto Ageas for a run of shows from 13 December 2019 to 1 January 2020. Check all the performances and dive into the magic of circus in this special holiday as the best talents from around the globe will be at Coliseu Porto Ageas, from gymnastics trapeze, to balancing acts or breath-taking acrobatics and mind blowing juggling.

Xmas is coming to town and it brings holiday decorations, carolers, lighting displays, craft fairs and stands to marvel even the harshest "Bah! Humbug!" of hearts. Take a trip with friends or family and find out that little gem you are striving for.

Porto is quite special at the turn of the year. The city is lit up and squares and streets across the Invicta are dressed up to make this New Year's Eve in Porto a memorable one.

Facebook has launched a guide to Porto, prepared by the 22 communities in the city that show where to go in the Invicta and how to get there. The Porto Guide is based on Facebook Pages and Groups, devoted to a specific matter, ranging from gastronomy to philosophy, or from monuments to cultural activities, just to mention a few.

The city is about ready to set up the Xmas light and the 30m high with 20m diameter LED lit Christmas tree at Aliados, in front of the City Hall. Everyone is invited to celebrate the switch-on moment, on 30th November, at 6pm.
