Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, was the main speaker at the most significant European event devoted to Urban Sustainability, in the framework of the Urban Future Global Conference, which is organised in Vienna and is running till 2 March. Moreira was the main lecturer of the session "How to lead change in your city", in the opening day of the event, where cities share and explain which policies they are making towards a sustainable future.

Porto was the chosen city to set up the new research and development centre of German company Devexperts. This company specializes in the development of highly complex software solutions and services for the Capital Markets industry. Devexperts is headquartered in Munich, Germany and it is estimated to create 80 jobs in Porto within the next two years.

The Sales and Marketing Bootcamp in Porto takes place between 19 and 23 March and it is based on an intensive learning concept designed to help young, growing companies gain valuable information from experts on how to expand and scale their companies. This initiative is developed by five organisations in Porto and the programme includes workshops on innovative marketing techniques; networking opportunities; business strategies and Marketing sessions.

Camellias are blooming again in Porto and the Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória hosts the 23rd edition of the exhibit that celebrates this winter flower. The event kicks off on 3 March, at 2.30 pm and is entrance free. The show enlivens the first days of March, featuring a programme that suits all tastes.

Porto is the Best Start-up Friendly City of Europe 2018. The award was granted on 19 February, during the World Excellence Awards in Istanbul, known as an investment hub in the Middle East. The World Business Angels Investment Forum announced Porto as the recipient of the award for the Best Startup-Friendly City of Europe and Mayor Rui Moreira received the prize.

For the second year running, Porto City Hall launches a call for proposals concerning activities in the trading area for the year 2018, in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology.

fDi - Intelligence Magazine, the reputable Financial Times publication in the field of business and FDI has just released the winners of the fDi's European Cities and Regions of the Future 2018/19 and the city of Porto is number 8 in the Mid-Sized European Cities of the Future 2018/19 ranking.

Porto will play host to the 20th International conference on industrial footwear on 17 and 18 May. Professionals from different countries will gather at the Invicta for the 20th International Technical Footwear Congress, a very much awaited event with a wide range of applicants and dozens of journalists who have expressed their interest in joining this conference.

Camellias are blooming everyone in Porto, making it ready to host the 23rd Camellias Exhibit in Porto, due to take place on 3 and 4 March. This edition will take place at the Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória and it is jointly organised by Porto City Hall and the Portuguese Association of Camellias.

Porto hosts two concerts of Glenn Miller Orchestra at Casa da Música, starting at 5.30 pm and at 9.30 pm. Ray McVay directs musicians and singers, featuring songs from past times, which include "Moonlight Serenade", "In The Mood", "Tuxedo Junction" or "Chattanooga Choo Choo".
