The Aquaporto Festival kicks off on 1st October, at the City Park. Under the motto "O FUTURO É HOJE" aka "THE FUTURE IS TODAY". The event takes on a digital format and the main goal is to raise awareness on the need to care about water.

The highest scores were registered at the University of Porto, regarding the National Competition for Access to Higher Education 2020/2021. Three out of the five courses with the highest score are from the UP. The number of students to apply to a faculty of the UP as a 1st choice represents almost the double of the available vacancies. A total of 4715 students were admitted to degrees at the UP, which means that 100, 5% of the study programmes of the faculties of the UP were chosen by...

The "O FUTURO É HOJE" aka "THE FUTURE IS TODAY" is the key issue for AQUAPORTO 2020, because water is our most fundamental resource and it is scarce. The AQUAPORTO festival takes off on 1st October, at the City Park. Everyone is invited to join Aquaporto Live and Aquaporto 360, a virtual visit that features an array of challenges and surprise events, via the website http://www.aquaporto.pt.

The commemoration programme of the 1820 Liberal Revolution bicentennial continues, this week, on 24th September, at 9am, with the international conference themed "Dois séculos de constitucionalismo eleitoral em Portugal (1820-2020)" (Two centuries of electoral constitucionalism in Portugal (1820-2020).

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) is the digital arena of the YES Meeting 15th edition, devoted to the biomedical field of research. The YES Meeting, organised by students of the Faculty of Medicine takes on, for the first time, a digital format and although apart it brings together 650 young researchers and renowned international scientists.

The Municipality of Porto just launched the project "Study in Porto". The main goal is to centralize in one online platform bountiful information where new students in town can learn things about the city and better adjust and adapt to a new reality both as a student and someone from Porto.

Porto Planetarium - Living Science Centre offers out of this world experiences this August, with six types of different immersive experiences, from Tuesdays to Sunday. Sessions kick off at 4pm up to 26 people at a time. The Planetarium is closed on Mondays.

The 2020 edition of the Leiden Ranking - Center for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS), which measures an institution's performance across bibliometric results, ranked the University of Porto among the 100 best in the world for scientific performance.

The Municipal Executive unanimously adopted the extension of free ride transit, the existing "Porto.13-15" to children up to 18 years old that reside in Porto. The investment by the Municipality is budgeted at 1.2 million euros per year, and it represents an addition of 90 thousand euros per month regarding the first year of application of that measure. In return for this increase, Porto City Hall will only pay the rides actually taken by free transit users (aka Andante).
