The Northern region of Portugal was the one that contributed the most to increase labour productivity, between 2000 and 2017; this represents a 20% growth compared to the Lisbon Metropolitan area, which has risen 3.3% in the same period.

Winning projects will be granted over 5 thousand euros.

Programme to combating child poverty and social exclusion supports 150 families in Porto

Porto City Hall signed a partnership with the Foundation "la Caixa" and BPI to launch the programme "Proinfância" ["Pro Infancy", free translation]. This programme is aimed at fighting child poverty and social exclusion, by providing support to circa 150 families in the parishes of Campanhã, Lordelo do Ouro and Ramalde.

Amnesty International call for "Face to Face" project

Amnesty International (AI) is looking for part time recruiters to disseminate the institution in Porto, to leverage funds and boosting youth engagement in this type of Human Rights awareness activities. In Porto, there are 26 part time vacancies for the period 20th March to 29th May.

Urban Market helps drive forward the "Ambulance for Hearts" charity project

General Assembly of the United Nations convenes in Porto from 20th to 22nd February

The 13th edition of the OPOMUN- Oporto Model United Nations is held at the Invicta, from 20th to 22nd February. Circa 245 youth from 25 countries take part in this relevant event that debates Human Rights, Security Council, Economic and Social Council, International Court of Justice and Special Conference.
