U.Porto academic courses on show between 27 and 29 May take to the online format

Last year’s U. Porto academic programme Show (Mostra) had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. This year, although following Covid-19 preventive measures, the Mostra is back in a special format. Between 27 and 29 May, the Mostra will take place in an online format, which can be really gratifying not only for wannabe graduates but also for the entire family.

You can talk the talk while drinking the drinking!

Discussing science over a drink might as well be the next amazing get together! This is the invitation by the Pint of Science festival, where you can debate scientific topics with experts while savouring a pint. The event runs between 17 and 19 May in Porto, Aveiro, Braga, Guimarães, Lisboa, Coimbra and Viseu, with the particular aspect that only the Invicta offers in-person sessions. Previous registration is mandatory.

International Day of the Family and the European Night of Museums celebrates today, 15 May, with activities for the entire family, adults and children alike. During the day, there will be a treasure hunt and in the evening, there will be a guided tour by the history of the pharmacy.

Porto will have Night Watch Guards in the city’s streets

The Municipal Executive has unanimously approved the implementation of a night watch guard services, which would extend to the 11 areas in the Historic Centre, as well as in Ramalde, in Lordelo do Ouro and Massarelos. The extension of such services are under consideration.

In-person and virtual commencement ceremonies mark FMUP’s Medical Students Graduation Day

Amid the pandemic, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) celebrates medical training and health research. The Graduation Day of the Faculty of Medicine, which took place on 5th May, is a milestone of the medical academic life, and was marked with an in-person and online tribute to circa 600 PhDs, Masters and graduates, as well as academics that are now full professors.
