Health Centres in Eastern Porto request all beneficiaries to update data

The Health Centres in Porto Oriental (ACES) have launched a campaign to request that beneficiaries keep details updated, in order to make the Covid-19 vaccine appointment more effective.

“110 retratos de uma Luta” or “110 portraits of a fight” is the telling title of the photo exhibit by photographer Marcus Garcia, on display at Porto subway stations, to honour the frontline health workers at Hospital S. João who are fighting the pandemic.

The 5th International Meeting under the AtlaS.WH project is held today and tomorrow, 13th and 14th April, under the theme “A sustainable future for our World Heritage cities”, organised by the partner city of Edinburg and open to the public. Students from Cerco Schools area receive 200 computers by the EDP Foundation

This morning, Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira and the General Director of the EDP Foundation, Miguel Coutinho paid a special visit to students in Cerco Schools, with a special mission: to grant 200 computers that will help them tackle constraints regarding access to remote education. Parents accompanied their children to school today, as this marks full access to remote learning for the most vulnerable students at Cerco Elementary School.

The Municipality of Porto launched the Porto. card just a week ago, and by now over 4.200 people have adhere to the card. All residents in Porto can adhere to the online card, through the uploading of all the necessary documents. Free membership can accordingly be made in-person, at the Townsman Office (Gabinete do Munícipe), at Porto municipal libraries, at Porto Municipal Theatre - Rivoli and at the municipal pools.

Phone call from space: Russian cosmonaut is back to the University of Porto

The online talk between the Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko and Portuguese students will take place on 14th April and will be streamed via the faculty’s YouTube.

Architect from Porto is shortlisted among the 40 Under 40 European Best

Maria João Andrade designed a House in the Douro Valley and a haemodialysis unit, projects that elevated her to the winners’ list of the 40 Under 40 European Best, in the scope of the European Architecture and Design Awards 2020. She is also the only national architect to be shortlisted.

Fairs and non-food markets to reopen in Porto

In line with the easing of the measures to fight Covid-19, which started on 5th April, fairs and non-food markets are to reopen in Porto, by decision of the Municipality of Porto, to whom the Government delegated decision powers. This measure is effective immediately and it does not include the Feira da Vandoma and the Feira do Cerco.

HIV/Aids Mobile Unit screening actions in Porto this April

The HIV/AIDS Mobile Unit screening actions for this month of April are already available. The CAD VIH/SIDA Porto (Centro de Aconselhamento e Deteção Precoce do VIH/SIDA do Porto), which is the Counselling Centre for the earlier HIV/AIDS diagnosis features monthly free planning regarding HIV/AIDS screening actions, in various locations in Porto.
