The new Desporto365 by the Municipality of Porto will be a must-have app

Everyone in Porto can easily organise their sports agenda with the Desporto365, the digital platform by the Municipality of Porto. This mobile service brings together the complete sports offer in a digital platform, as regards the city’s equipment, available sports modalities, with updated information on all clubs and entities that devote to physical and sports activities in the city of Porto.

Women’s Race takes to the virtual format. Applications are ongoing

EDP Women's Race will be held on 22 and 23 May, in a special edition that takes to the virtual format, due to the constraints regarding the pandemic. There is still the opportunity to deliver lots of fun and encouragement by everyone, all over the world on fighting breast cancer. Participants of 17 nationalities have already registered and the organisation estimates that circa five thousand people will enter the virtual race. Applications are ongoing.

A trip to Ramalde Sports Park: free classes, lots of sports and fun

Free skate classes are back to the city of Porto, starting on 13 May. Access is free, as usual, but prior registration is mandatory.

Rally de Portugal takes to Foz do Douro, in Porto on 22 May

Rally de Portugal, which scores for the WRC programme is back in Porto on 22 May. The Super Special stage will take to the Forte de São João Baptista, in Foz do Douro and today, 10 May, marks the beginning of the preparation of this Super Special.

Emerging from lockdowns and encountering sunshiny days (Spring is here!) is evermore blissful and urges to soul and body soothing activities. The municipal programmes Days with Energy (Dias com Energia) and Sundays in Shape (Domingos em Forma) resume this weekend, on 8 and 9 May. Although with no limits in the number of participants per activity, registrations are mandatory.

Porto hosts the Thinking Football Summit promoted by the Liga Portugal

Porto City Hall provided the Super Bock Arena - Pavilhão Rosa Mota, as unanimously adopted during the Executive Meeting held yesterday, to the Portugal League Thinking Football Summit, a European event that will take place between 2 and 5 September. The Thinking Football Summit, which is promoted by the Portugal League, will have an estimate financial impact of 4.5 million euros. The support to the implementation of this initiative is formalised for four editions, until 2024.

Pro Skate League kick starts in Porto with Olympic status

The Skate Park of Ramalde is the stage of the new Pro Skate League, an annual circuit of seven stages aimed at boosting the modality that will be taken to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Porto stage, presented at a press conference, yesterday, 29th April, will be held between 6th and 9th May and it will be the only stage in Portugal to score for the world ranking that qualifies for the Tokyo Olympics 2020, for the first time.

Adapted swimming competition in the Pool of Campanhã over the weekend

The 7th edition of the Adapted Swimming Tournament takes to the pool of Campanhã, in Porto, welcoming 35 men athletes and 29 women athletes, representing eight national teams. The start of the competition is set for 3. 30 pm this Saturday.

Porto Atlantic Front to host Porto Finn Gold Cup between 5 and 12 May

Porto Finn Gold Cup 2021 gathers 80 sailors of the World Olympic Sailing Classes Championship. Besides granting the title of Finn World Champion, the race that will take to the beaches of Porto, Matosinhos and Vila Nova de Gaia, will also assign the last places to the Olympics in Tokyo, from 5 to 12 May.

Riding waves at Praia Internacional do Porto this May

The third round of the Liga Meo Surf 2021, a qualifying stage for the National Championship happens in Porto and in Matosinhos on 7, 8 and 9 May. This northern round, which was renamed Joaquim Chaves Saúde Porto Pro, is running for 16 straight seasons.
