New Tourism Office in Santa Catarina Street

A New Tourism Office opened in Santa Catarina Street, next to FNAC store. This service is a partnership of Porto City Hall and Porto Tourism Association. Timetable is from Monday to Saturday, from 11 am to 8 pm, and it will work on Sundays till 15th September.

"Days with Energy" Municipal Programme calls on wellbeing alfresco

The "Days with Energy" is a municipal project aimed at promoting physical activity and raising awareness on the importance of staying active and living a healthy lifestyle. Be it Pilates, yoga or tai-chi sessions, the municipal programme provides a whole weekend of working out and inhaling the nature's fresh air. Participation in the sessions is free, the only requirement is the use of comfortable equipment.

Sundays in August offer Jazz evenings and stunning Douro views

The Municipal Programme "Verão é no Porto" [summer is in Porto] takes Jazz back to Palácio de Cristal, this August. Every Saturday in August, the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal feature the Jazz concert cycle "Jazz ao Relento" [Jazz in the open], as is tradition every summer in Porto. These events are access free.

The Art of Urban sketching or the bold and spontaneous strokes of Porto

The "family photo" taken at Avenida dos Aliados, in front of the City Hall, on 21st July, marks the end of the International Urban Sketchers 9th Symposium, an event that brought together 800 sketchers of 46 different nationalities, background and age group to Porto. The 10th International Urban Sketchers Symposium will be hosted by Urban Sketchers Netherlands, in Amsterdam.

As of tomorrow, the city of Porto will be one that is bustling with dances and songs, showcasing the tradition and culture of eight countries. This is the International Folklore Festival City of Porto, and for nine days in July, from 21st to 29th July, more than 250 participants will perform in locations such as Trindade Metro Station, Quinta de São Romão, the Social Centre of Sé, the Garden of Arca d'Água or the Gomes Teixeira Square.

This morning, Terreiro da Sé was the place of choice of this amazing crowd. Eight hundred people armed with notebooks, pencils, water colours, pencils, poster paint and mere inspiration surrendered to the "amazing vistas" of the city of Porto and "the extraordinary traits of such a unique city".

Culture or the starting point of Porto by Rui Moreira at the Moscow Urban Forum

Moscow is the global capital to debate the cities of the future. The MUF 2018 - Moscow Urban Forum runs from 17 to 22 July, under the topic "Megacity of the Future: New Space for Living". This event gathers renowned speakers worldwide, and Rui Moreira, Mayor of Porto was one of the guest speakers who shared the city's starting point regarding sustainability and social cohesion: culture.

Projects made in Porto win national competition on creative industries

Three projects made in Porto obtained podium positions in the framework of the 10th edition of the National Prize on Creative Industries Super Bock/Serralves. Horizon47, Guava Shoes and Quarteto Contratempus stood out among the ten finalists and were awarded, respectively, first, second and third prizes.
