Frida Kahlo's unseen photos on show in Porto as of July 6

Recently found photos of Frida Kahlo's most intimate and private moments will be on show at the Portuguese Photography Centre, in Porto. Since they were first made public, in Mexico City, in 2009, the exhibit has been touring the entire world and already accounts for over half a million visitors in fifteen different cities.

The exhibition themed "O ontem morreu hoje, o hoje morre amanhã" inaugurated at Porto Municipal Gallery. It is curated by Carla Filipe and Ulrich Loock, and it will be on show till 19th August, at the Gallery's first floor. The show features the consequence of social projects in clubs and pubs as an escape from daily life.

The sports competition "Porto a Subir" pushed athletes to the extreme on 1 July

This is the 15th edition of this tough sporting event in Porto. On 1 July, 250 participants, of six different nationalities tested their limits in this endurance race, one of the most iconic of the city official calendar. This race against the clock included 206 steps of the "Escadas do Codeçal" and the second half of the challenge comprised 290 steps of the "Escadas dos Guindais".

"Get out of my hair" by Porto Puppet Theatre

Porto Puppet Theatre features the performance "Pelos Cabelos", at the Teatro de Belomonte. The show will be on stage from 1 till 8 July. The starting point of this performance is the artwork by João Vaz de Carvalho. The consequence is a performance full of strange characters, of absent and hallucinated looks, where mood and nonsense merge to enliven puppets.

Trengo Contemporary Circus hits town tomorrow

As of Saturday, 30 June till 8 July, Trengo - Circus Festival of Porto performs for free in town. The Garden Paulo Vallada, the Quinta do Covelo and the Rivoli will feature four shows.
