Porto Municipal Gallery inaugurated the exhibit “Nets of Hyphae”. The display is authored by Diana Policarpo and curated by Stefanie Hessler, director of the Kunsthall Trondheim. Mayor Rui Moreira visited the exhibition today, accompanied by Diana Policarpo and by Guilherme Blanc, the contemporary art and cinema director of Ágora’s municipal company.

This season, Porto Municipal Theatre (TMP) launched the project PAR(S) – Artes Performativas e Imagem Online [Online Performance Arts and Image”, free translation], with the purpose of presenting both in-person and online performances. “Ø ilha” by Cláudia Varejão and Joana Castro is already available online at Porto Municipal Theatre, from 1st December to 31st December 2020.

City Café webinar series continue and the next agenda appointment is the session: “Serious Fun: a tool to manage and develop teams”, delivered by Angela Barroso, on 15th December, between 1.30pm and 2,30pm. Participation is free, but application is mandatory. Register now.

The University of Porto and Santander Universidades will provide an early celebration of International Volunteering Day, on 4th December. This day, as recognised by the United Nations since 1985, is celebrated on 5th December; however, the UP will observe this day tomorrow morning with a webinar scheduled for 11am, with the presentation of the four winning projects of the Santander UNI-Covid19 Prize.

The first Municipal Atelier opens doors this month of December to accommodate the first six artists; Vera Mota, Jaime Lauriano, Dayana Lucas, Tomás Abreu, Laetitia Morais and Orlando Vieira Francisco will settle in the new working spaces set in Ribeira.

The Clérigos Tower and Museum will close to public access till 31st January as improvement works get underway. In 2021, the landmark monument in Porto will be restored to the city in all its splendour and with new contents to discover.

Porto City Hall will hand out 150 thousand discount vouchers to the city traders to compensate them for the pandemic distress. As such, for each 20 euros spent in street trading, traditional trade and local trade, customers will be granted a 2-euro direct rebate.

There are only a few days to go before the final presentation of the municipal programme “Desporto no Bairro, which will join on stage the 35 finalists of the programme, the 10 b-boys and b-girls that monitor the project and the premiere of international band ILL-Abilities in Portugal.
