Streets at Foz Velha received new handrails to pedestrian accessibility

New handrails are in place in Foz Velha. This endeavour’s main goal was to improve pedestrian accessibility, under the Municipality of Porto accessibilities mobility plan. Residents and visitors coming and going in the streets of Foz Velha now have new street equipment that will make their lives easier.

Excellence in Greenhouse Gas Management grants Porto A scores according the Carbon Disclosure Project

Porto received the highest rating for its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, while building resilience to the impacts of climate change. Alongside other members of the A List regarding environmental action, which features 88 cities worldwide, Porto is setting an example as a resilient, engaged city that safeguards its citizens, its economy and, ultimately, the planet. The CDP Europe Awards 2021 were held in an online format on 2nd March, under the motto #BuildForwardBetter.

The festival’s organisations announced today that NOS Primavera Sound 9th edition will be postponed, as it was in 2021, owing to the pandemic and to the resulting unpredictable times we live now, regarding the hosting of large events. The new date is set: June 2022.

747 applications received under the Porto Solidário support programme to target housing problems

Porto Solidário municipal programme received 747 applications between 19th January and 15th February. Thus far, 319 applications have been approved, of which 289 have already been granted support for a period of 24 months, worth 198.70 euros per application, on average. The analysis process is ongoing.
