La Mélancolie des Dragons by Philippe Quesne

The Rivoli Grand Auditorium features "La Mélancolie des Dragons », by Philippe Quesne, on 16 February, starting at 9.30 pm. The Director, Quesne stages a diptych show, "La Mélancolie des Dragons". In a magical snowy setting the dragons and their dog will find Snow White, and build a minimalist and multifunctional amusement park.

Rivoli screens Godard and Antonioni films

Rivoli screens "Masculin Féminin", by Jean-Luc Godard, and "Blow-Up", by Michelangelo Antonioni, within the "Ver primeiro" [Watch first] cycle at Rivoli, on 13 February.

Camellias Exhibit in Porto is back to Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória

Camellias are blooming everyone in Porto, making it ready to host the 23rd Camellias Exhibit in Porto, due to take place on 3 and 4 March. This edition will take place at the Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória and it is jointly organised by Porto City Hall and the Portuguese Association of Camellias.

Glenn Miller Orchestra performs in Porto on 10 February

Porto hosts two concerts of Glenn Miller Orchestra at Casa da Música, starting at 5.30 pm and at 9.30 pm. Ray McVay directs musicians and singers, featuring songs from past times, which include "Moonlight Serenade", "In The Mood", "Tuxedo Junction" or "Chattanooga Choo Choo".

The Primavera Sound Festival is back in town next June

Musicians Lorde, A$AP Rocky and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will headline the 7th edition of NOS Primavera Sound Festival. The 7th edition of the music festival will take place from 7 to 9 June in the City Park (Parque da Cidade), and artists such as The War on Drugs, Arca, Father John Misty, Mogwai, Jamie XX, Fever Ray, Tyler, The Creator, Vince Staples and Thundercat will be on stage.

Urban Market marks anniversary with two editions at Hard Club

Portugal Lovers celebrates its 6th anniversary with two editions of Urban Market, jointly with Hard Club and with the support of Porto city Hall. The market will run from 9 to 11 February and from 23 to 25 February. Entrance is free and the event takes place between 11 am and 7 pm.

Festival Vivarium challenges us to ask the place of Humankind in the "digital age"

Vivarium Festival opens in March to engage us on the following question: How will the digital age be like for humankind? Fantasporto celebrates 38 years and achieves international recognition

The Fantasporto has been celebrating the film industry for the past 38 years. This year, the "Fantas" honours the world of cinema, under the motto "Grande Cinema do Mundo" [World Film Industry]. This years'edition will kick-off on 20 February and it will debate ethics, honour Lauro António and bring to the Rivoli a selection of almost 120 films from more than 60 countries.

The exhibit "Anuário" gathers curators to celebrate artistic activity in Porto

The "Anuário" [yearbook] takes as its starting point the intention to document and to examine artistic activity in Porto for a year. The exhibit constitutes one of the pillars for municipal platform PLÁKA, focused on contemporary art production in Porto. This display is supervised by the newly appointed Director of Serralves Museum, João Ribas and by Guilherme Blanc, Assistant of Mayor of Porto for Culture.
