Folk groups from eight different nationalities enliven the city
Starting 23 July, Sunday next, Porto plays host to the International Folk festival. About 250 participants from eight different nationalities will enliven the city. Numerous arenas through town will feature musical groups from Brazil, Cyprus, and Hungary and also from Poland, India, Czech Republic and Panama.
Sunset at Virtudes presents Above The Tree
The weekly programme Por do Sol at Virtudes [Sunset at Virtudes], features Italian Marco Bernacchia and his project "Above the Tree", at 7 pm, 21 July. "The Above The Tree" project features the sound of human body contact with instruments, such as scraping or slapping a guitar.
Pinning Porto and the Northern Region on the world Map of Talent
The Talent Map of Porto and North Region of Portugal shows the size of the regional talent pools in the following key areas: diversification of the economy towards digital transformation, human capital and skills, vocational and university training designed at the level of Porto macro-region.
"Design by Porto, Porto by Design" exhibition ends 23 July
"Design by Porto, Porto by Design: 4 years of design from Porto City Hall" ends on Sunday 23 August at Palácio dos Correios building. The exhibition features the transformation of the visual communication of the municipality translated into flyers, mupis, urban billboards and catalogues.
August brings open air cinema to Porto
August is the season of outdoor cinema. Children and adults alike are invited to join in free film screening sessions throughout the city, ensuring entertainment for all the tastes and ages.

Guided tours to the best bits of urban art in July and August
From 22 July to 27 August, Porto City Hall offers workshops and guided tours on foot and by tuk-tuks (three-wheeler mopeds). Participants will have the chance to visit some of the best objets d'art in the city streets in the context of the municipal Urban Art Programme.
Dancing picnic, 22 July at Casa das Artes
Next Saturday, 22 July, Casa das Artes, in Porto will host a dancing picnic on the grass, the perfect meeting point for social interaction among family and friends. The programme features concerts by PZ, Old Jerusalem, Barry White Gone Wrong, Desligado, Carbon and Rui David, besides DJs and children's programming.
Porto Academy brings art and science to town with notable architects
The 5th edition of Porto Academy kicks off 20 July. This event is promoted by Casa da Arquitectura and the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP). Summer School 2017 will run until 27 July throughout the city, including Rivoli Theatre, Faculty of Economy (FEP), Campinas District and the Faculty of Architecture.
