Porto City Hall renovates ceramic tiles nearby the Praia Internacional do Porto

Porto City Hall is repairing the tiles, aka azulejos nearby the Praça de Gonçalves Zarco and along the surrounding waterfront. The works are carried out by the municipal company GO Porto, and the main goal is to recover the tile facade of this type of azulejo that is named “Viúva Lamego”, and which are ceramic coated.

Thierry Neuville will donate up to 10 thousand euros to a social charity in Porto

Each stage of the World Rally Championship, Belgian rally driver Thierry Neuville of Hyundai Motorsport, chooses a local association to donate, at least, two thousand euros. This amount doubles if the Belgian pilot finishes second or third in the race, and can go up to 10 thousand euros if he gets first podium place in the Rally de Portugal, which already happened in 2018.

Workshops on how to search for a job are ongoing this May

Youth aged 29 and less, who are in a NEET situation (acronym for "Not in Education, Employment, or Training"), can find a job opportunity with the support of Porto City Hall and the Cité des Métiers. Workshops are ongoing this month of May.

Semi Permanent joins Sia and Daniel Askill

The immersive exhibition “Sia + Daniel Askill: The Videos 2003 – 2021” is on show at the Palacete Pinto Leite, between 19 and 23 May. The display shows a joint retrospective of the Australian artist and the award winning filmmaker, featuring never seen backstage scenes, as well as the premiere of a new video exclusively created by Daniel Askill for the exhibition in Porto. Entrance is free and tickets are available for reservation.

Car parking at Palácio de Cristal is colour-blind inclusive

The Color ADD aids color blind people to recognise colors, and it is now implemented at the Palácio de Cristal car parking. This code system had already been installed at the Trindade Covered Parking.

Museum of the Holocaust offers free entrance until June

Celebrate the International Day of Museums with a visit to the Museum of the Holocaust, the first of its type in the Iberian Peninsula that keeps the memory of the victims of one of the darkest periods in Humankind’s latest history. Entrance is free until June.

Rally pilots do the warm up leg racing of the Foz do Douro

Starting at 3.30 pm today, rally drivers will race the outlined circuit to “warm-up” the engines. The race is organised by the Automóvel Clube de Portugal and it will be the fourth stage to score to the WRC- World Rally Championship, to be held between 20 and 23 May, as previously planned for 2020, before it was halted by the pandemic. The event will be televised by RTP and streamed to over 160 countries.

Church of the Ordem da Trindade is classified as a Public Interest Monument

The church of the Ordem da Trindade has been classified as a Public Interest Monument. The church was built in nineteenth century and “contributed to define and consolidate a new centrality in Porto’s urban life, later recognised by the settling of the own headquarter in the same square”, as stated by the decree published in the National Official Gazette, on 14 May.
