Stock Exchange Palace commemorates record number of visits in 2017

The Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace) celebrates record number of visits - in 2017, about 360 thousand tourists have visited the landmark building, according to the Porto Trade Association (ACP). An increase of 6% regarding the same period last year.

Casa da Música opens doors to celebrate Austria

Casa da Música (CdM) opens doors for four days (17 to 21 January) and invites the audience to participate in a set of events that are access free. Between today and Sunday, it is possible to watch rehearsals, take part in educational activities, watch films, visit the stage and backstage of the building that breathes and shares music for over a decade.

Municipal Archive leads journey to 19th century Porto

The cycle "document of the month", which aims to connect the people to the history of the city of Porto features a free session at Casa do Infante, on 18 January, starting at 3.30 pm. The Phantom of the Universe at Porto Planetarium

Porto Planetarium invites to a Phantom hunt at the Centre for Live Science of Porto University on Saturdays and holidays, starting at 4.30 pm. The Science Centre of Porto University screens a full dome film session titled "The Phantom of the Universe". The purpose is to display something we cannot see, feel or touch, that neither emits nor reflects light, but it is everywhere: the dark matter.

Researchers from Porto are granted funds to solve unsolved rare diseases

The "Solving the unsolved Rare Diseases" project was recently funded by the European Commission, through the Horizon 2020. The amount of 250 thousand euros has already been found for the i3S Expression Regulation in Cancer research project led by Carla Oliveira.

Porto Metro network will be extended in 2022

The Metro of Porto will be extended for more than 5 kilometres and it will have seven more stations in 2022. The Portuguese State Secretary for Environment, Jorge Mendes stated that the works should begin in 2019. The expansion comprises the construction of the new Pink line in Porto and the extension of the Yellow line in the city of Gaia.

Rivoli: Celebrating 86 years

Saturday is the 86th anniversary of Rivoli, one of the landmark buildings in Porto. Since its refurbishing, the Rivoli has welcomed thousands of people to memorable performances and events. To celebrate, the Rivoli will run an anniversary programme on 20 January, stretching out pleasantly from Saturday morning to the early hours on Sunday, featuring dance, music, theatre, installation and literature.

Porto Municipal Gallery invites you to discover the António Cachola Collection

The exhibition "10000 anos depois entre Vénus e Marte" [10000 years after between Venus and Mars] from the António Cachola acquis gathers works by several artists from several generations. The display inaugurated early December and will be on show till 18 February. This exhibition is access free.
