What better way to plunge into the Christmas holiday season than to visit a good old Xmas market? As tradition, this time of year is a special lively one in the city of Porto, and markets and fairs are the best getaways for fun and joy, be it with friends or family. All 31 markets in the city of Porto are access free for the entire month of December.

With the festive feeling already upon us, Porto Christmas Village, at the customs Building, will give you the opportunity to indulge in the festive traditions, be it food or drink, and having fun and relaxing with family and friends.

The city of Porto was chosen to organise the major event Cities Forum 2019. This will be the time to gather key stakeholders from European, national and local levels to debate the progress of the urban agenda for the EU, the urban dimension of the Cohesion Policy and also the EU response to the urban dimension of the 2030 Agenda and the New Urban Agenda.

The Scottish indie rock band, Franz Ferdinand will head the programming on 25 May 2019, the second day of the North Music Festival in the city of Porto.

The Porto/Post/Doc Festival brings the world in film, once again, featuring fiction that represents reality from Russian nationalism and Peruvian ethnography to Transsexuality in Brazil and prostitution in Japan. The festival kicked-off on 24 November and concludes on 2 December.

From 1 December till 6 December, the city of Porto will be dressed up in merry colours for the festive season. Streets and squares will transform into sheer joy as lighting and caroling will wrap everyone's hearts into the values of humanity and solidarity.

The Competence Centre on Cybersecurity and Privacy of the University Of Porto (C3P), based at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP), contributed to the Samsung Knox certification alongside the National Security Office.
