Muse Design Awards 2019 recognise the excellence of architects from Porto

The architecture project by Porto Ventura + Partners was awarded the Platinum Winner Prize for the rehabilitation of a house located in Foz do Douro, in the Architectural Design category, by the Muse Design Awards 2019.

The organisation received more than two thousand applications, from 42 countries. The office led by architect from Porto, Manuel Ventura was distinguished for the renovation work on the Quinta do Monte, a historical residence, on which documents dated from the 17th century are known.

"The challenge was to adapt the existing building to the daily life of a new family, with the least possible impact on the former house. (?) Fully rehabilitated, the house respects and magnifies its cultural and historical past. Recreated and reimagined, Quinta do Monte represents a seamless balance between legacy and future, baroque and modernism, being undeniably timeless", reads the Muse Awards website.

The Muse Design Awards 2019 have also distinguished Ventura + Partners with the Silver Winner Prize for the Bessa Hotel Liberdade project, in Lisbon, in the Hospitality subcategory.

This is a not a first for the Ventura + Partners Studio as they have already been awarded other international prizes, namely for their work on the Hospital CUF, in Porto, The Dynamic Building, the Primavera Software, in Braga, and for the house in São Félix da Marinha, in Vila Nova de Gaia.
