British band Echo & The Bunnymen will perform in Portugal next February, and the gig in Porto is already scheduled for 9th February, at the Hard Club, as stated by the promoter At The Rollercoaster.

One of the most prestigious awards in the construction engineering area, the 2018 Civil Engineering Excellence Award, was given to Adão da Fonseca, former Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), in recognition for "his outstanding projects towards the common good" as well as for "his professional career as a civil engineer to the benefit of society".

The Professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP), the designer Eduardo Aires, was awarded two silver Pentawards in 2018. The Rheinforce technology, developed by researchers of the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University (FEUP), Francisco Galindo Rosales and Laura Campo Deaño, was recently awarded the AuxDefense 2018 Innovation Prize, the most important International conference on defence advanced materials.

The Scott Kelby Annual Worldwide Photo walk is held on the first Saturday of October, and this year, the city of Porto will join the photographic journey, with the Porto Can't Miss It event, led by travel photographer José Manuel Santos.
