The Clérigos Tower and Museum host the exhibition “Só, neste Porto só!” [“Alone, in this Porto alone”, free translation], a photographic record of the city, with the goal of showcasing the Invicta during the first major lockdown in the country, last year in March.

The repairs and improvements at the Rua do Dr. Vasco Valente, in the parish of Ramalde are now completed. The intervention aimed to rehabilitate and to modernize street space and the surroundings of the residential area, namely pavements and pedestrian access, as well as road signposting.

Porta-Jazz 11th edition is back in Porto this July and aims to deliver a wellbeing of music festivals

The Porta-Jazz inspiring festival is back in Porto from 23 to 25 July. These will be three-full days aimed at delivering a wellbeing of music festivals to both musicians and audiences. The new meeting point is the Gardens of the Palácio de Cristal, as it was originally planned to take place at the Rivoli Theatre, last February.

A positive that emerges from the pandemic context is the first U.Porto Fest!

The scene is set: from 8 to 12 June there will be a team of amazing storytellers that will make it through the University of Porto; there will be inspiring stories, life moments to hold on to, collective imagined scenarios, poetry, even, or music and stand-up comedy by former students and teachers that have a strong liaison with the place they used to call “home” and thus create the unique and first U. Porto Fest.

One way of celebrating São João can very much be the voting on your preferred São João Shop Window under the S. João 2021 Shop Window Competition. Applications for Best São João Window, in the following categories “Best Window Friend of the Environment” and “Best Shop window elected by the Public” concluded on 2 June. Now it is time to have your say as regards the Best São João Windows in town, as there will be a voting by the jury and a voting by the general public, which run from 9 to 21 June.

Let’s go out and watch a movie with “Há Filmes na Baixa!”

The cinema cycle "Há Filmes na Baixa" is back in Porto from 9 to 22 June and features some of the most iconic films, in collaboration with Porto/Post/Doc. Highlight to the two cult movies that will take to the silver screen at Passos Manuel this June: Ran and Apocalipse Now.

The STCP transported circa 190 thousand passengers per day, in May

STCP, Porto’s Bus Company, transported, on average, 190 thousand passengers, last May. These figures comprise the entire Bus network, operating on working days and represent 70% of the figures registered during the pre-pandemic phase.

U.Porto new students welcome kit is available for pick up following pandemic interruption

The offer of the welcome kits to the 2020/2021 UP new students will be resumed from 7 to 25 June, at the Loja da Universidade, upon presentation of the respective voucher. The distribution had been interrupted last October, owing to the pandemic.

The Museum of the Holocaust in Porto offers free visits until the end of June

The Museum of the Holocaust, which inaugurated in Porto last May, with circa 300 daily visitors, offers entrance free until the end of June. This is the first Holocaust Museum in the Iberian Peninsula and its target goal is to keep the memory of the victims of one of the darkest periods in Humankind’s latest history alive.
