The 2018 edition of the Electric tramcars Parade in Porto takes place on May 5th. This event is held annually since 1992 and the main goal is to tell stories about the days when this one-hundred years old electric freight cars were used to transport coal from the mines in São Pedro da Cova to the new power plant in Massarelos. The first electric freight trams were indicated as Zorras.

World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated on April 26th and this year the theme is "Powering change: Women in innovation and creativity", honouring the genius and the talent of the women who inspire change in society worldwide towards a better future and as representatives of cultural organisations and industries.

Concerts, displays of fireworks and revolution-décor at Avenida dos Aliados in the city of Porto to celebrate Freedom day, on April 25. The musician from Porto, Bezegol kicks-off the 44th Anniversary Programme of the Carnation Revolution in Porto, scheduled to start at 10 pm. The fireworks will be set alight at midnight.

The Clérigos Church plays host to a performance by String Trio from Romania, Iulia, Stefan & Marin Cazacu, in the context of the programme themed "Romanian Music in Portugal's great cathedrals", to celebrate the centenary of the Great Union of Romania, on 18 April at 7 pm.

Researchers from the University of Porto, from the Astrophysics Institute and Space Sciences (IA), are part of the team that launches TESS, a space observatory, into space today, April 16th.

The IFMAT Summit themed "Digital Transformation on Society and on the Economy" is the first international summit to take place in Portugal to debate finance, accounting, marketing, management and similar areas. This event will take place in Porto, in the Ferreira Borges Market, on 19 and 20 April.

The 42nd edition of Portugal Fashion ended this Saturday, on March 24 and it was again a success. The event gathered designers Katty Xiomara, Nuno Baltazar, Luís Onofre and Diogo Miranda, among others, putting forward the trends for the Autumn/Winter season 2018-19. For the first time, Portugal Fashion was held at the "City of Fashion", a space specifically created at the City Park of Porto.

The President of the French corporate and investment bank, Natixis, Laurent Mignon, declared to Portuguese weekly publication Expresso that he couldn't be happier with the relocation of part of its group to Porto, where they have found talent, highly skilled and dedicated professionals, graduated by Universities and Institutes greatly qualified in Science and technology, and able to speak a lot of languages, which Natixis couldn't find in France.

Daniel Goleman, the world's most renowned psychologist and writer of best seller "Emotional intelligence" kicks off the 12th edition of the QSP Summit at Exponor, on March 22. The QSP Summit plays an important part on addressing such issues as Marketing and Management in Europe.
