Ice skating is athletic fun for the whole family and this time of year ice rinks are the best spots to enjoy winter sports while having fun! The rinks are located at D. João I Square and at the Boavista Roundabout. The day of the opening access to the ice rinks is free, from 8 pm till closing time.

The Porta-Jazz kicks off on 1 December, in various concert halls all over the city. The grand Jazz celebration in Porto, the Porta-Jazz is back in town from 1 December till 9 December.

The Scottish indie rock band, Franz Ferdinand will head the programming on 25 May 2019, the second day of the North Music Festival in the city of Porto.

The IV European Congress on Jewellery, themed on Centres and Peripheries in European Jewellery from Antiquity to 21st Century, will be held in Porto, at the School of Arts of the Catholic University of Porto, on 29 and 30 November.

Finir en Beauté and C'est la Vie by Mohamed El Khatib will go on stage at Palco do Auditório at Campo Alegre, on 6 and 7 December, at 8.30 pm and a double session at 8.30 and at 9.30 pm, on Friday.

The University of Porto has officially launched the U-bike project. The U-bike Portugal Project is cofinanced by the Operational programme for Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources (PO SEUR), Portugal 2020 and the European Union, through the Cohesion Fund. In order to keep the right to "ride their" bicycle till the end of the application (6, 9 and 12 months), users will have to ride a minimum 7 km per day with the bike.

Adopting sound environmental practices offers an opportunity to stimulate responsible behaviours while keeping the quality of events in focus. The NOS Primavera Sound Festival and the "Noites da Queima das Fitas do Porto" were awarded the label "Sê-lo Verde" [Green Label, free translation], aimed at acknowledging best practices in such events as music festivals.

The Tomorrow Summit takes place on 21 November, at the Customs Building, in the city of Porto, inviting enthusiasts looking for innovative and creative debates to be part of this first edition. Entrance is free.

From 1 to 9 December, the city of Porto hosts the Porta-Jazz Festival, featuring 30 concerts, including premieres and unique artistic partnerships. There will be school meetings, workshops and jam sessions to promote exchanges and networking between Jazz musicians.
