Porto hosts the first phase of a global movement aimed at debating climate change, finding environmental solutions and tackling the negative impact of that change. The kick off happens on July 6th, with the first Climate Change Leadership Conference, which will be held at Coliseu Porto Ageas, in Porto.

Writer and translator João Bouza da Costa offers a guided tour on 7th July to the temporary exhibition "Encontros", devoted to Günter Grass and on show at the House-Museum Guerra Junqueiro.

Researchers from Porto took part in an international project aimed at designing an interactive game that helps users reduce household energy consumption through minor changes in daily routines.

The year 2018 marks one century after the birth of one of the greatest film makers of the twentieth century. Ingmar Bergman was born on 14th July 1918, in Uppsala, in Sweden and passed away on 30th July in the Swedish island of Fårö. Leopardo Filmes and Medeia Filmes are preparing an homage to the Swedish director to celebrate his life, work and legacy.

The fourth edition of the "Keep It Simple, Make It Fast" (KISMIF) Congress is back in Porto from 3 till 7 July. This KISMIF edition is titled "Gender, Differences, Identities and DIY Cultures" and it comprises conferences, concerts and exhibitions "focused on gender and difference", declared Paula Guerra, event organiser, to Lusa.

Barack Obama, former American President and Nobel Peace Prize, will lecture at Coliseu Porto Ageas on 6 July, in the context of the Climate Change Leadership Summit in Porto.

Recently found photos of Frida Kahlo's most intimate and private moments will be on show at the Portuguese Photography Centre, in Porto. Since they were first made public, in Mexico City, in 2009, the exhibit has been touring the entire world and already accounts for over half a million visitors in fifteen different cities.

The exhibition themed "O ontem morreu hoje, o hoje morre amanhã" inaugurated at Porto Municipal Gallery. It is curated by Carla Filipe and Ulrich Loock, and it will be on show till 19th August, at the Gallery's first floor. The show features the consequence of social projects in clubs and pubs as an escape from daily life.

This is the 15th edition of this tough sporting event in Porto. On 1 July, 250 participants, of six different nationalities tested their limits in this endurance race, one of the most iconic of the city official calendar. This race against the clock included 206 steps of the "Escadas do Codeçal" and the second half of the challenge comprised 290 steps of the "Escadas dos Guindais".

As of Saturday, 30 June till 8 July, Trengo - Circus Festival of Porto performs for free in town. The Garden Paulo Vallada, the Quinta do Covelo and the Rivoli will feature four shows.
