Porto City Hall acts in the field of Mental Health in the workplace

Porto City Hall provides its staff with training regarding mental health in the workplace. The specific training, themed "Ouvir o que não é dito, Primeiros Socorros em Saúde Mental" [Make the unspoken heard, First Aid in Mental Health - free translation], started today and it will last the entire week, in a total of 18 hours. This initiative is jointly organised with Time to Change Campaign and Mental Health First Aid England.

School of Arts celebrates the art form of cinema with the community

The School of Arts of Porto Catholic University sets off as of today a public programme on the art of film. Thus, the Porto Summer School on Cinematic Art runs for a week and features a group of six artists - Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Salomé Lamas, João Pedro Rodrigues and João Rui Guerra da Mata, João Salaviza and Filipa César.

Free European Video Store kicks off in Porto on 20th June

The European "Video on demand" service, aka AVA will be available in Portugal. The service will be announced at the Municipal Library Almeida Garrett at 6.30m pm, on 20th June.

Innovation and Health Research Institute of Porto University figures high on the nomination for the Regional Development awards

The Innovation and Health Research Institute of the University of Porto - i3S- was selected by an independent jury as one of the finalists for the RegioStars 2018 European Awards. These prizes are regarded as the "Oscars" for the Regional Development, which distinguish the most inspiring projects at regional level and are funded by the European Union.

Rui Moreira steps solid ground in China

The official tour of the Mayor of Porto through China is now in Shanghai. After visiting Beijing, Rui Moreira held meetings with the Mayor and Vice-Mayor of the largest city of the People's Republic of China, considered one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the world, with over 24 million inhabitants.

A night at the opera at Amor de Perdição Square on 16th June, for free

Porto City Hall joins other 230 organisations that have joined the initiative "Liceu a la Fresca", rebroadcasting outdoors and in a giant screen one of Giacomo Puccini's most successful work, the opera "Manon Lescaut". The broadcasting is scheduled for Saturday, starting at 10.15 pm, at the Amor de Perdição Square, in Cordoaria, next to the Portuguese Photography Centre. Access is free.

What is Jazz? Music that swings at Pasteleira neighbourhood by Cultura em Expansão Programme
