Introducing the new street art mural at Rua da Alegria, by Daniel Padure

Artist and illustrator Daniel Padure was born in Romania. His is the new street art mural, located at Rua da Alegria, next to the Reservatório dos Congregados. We can’t exactly visit the mural at present time, but this is an interesting overview that sure promises that when in-person visits are possible, it will be just as rewarding. For the time being, let’s take time to appreciate art in the world by means of photography.

Porto Municipal Libraries launch “Architeture by Álvaro Siza” online course. Applications are open until 2nd February

Get a perspective on the work by Pritzker prize Álvaro Siza Vieira with the online course organised by Porto Municipal Libraries. The course is themed “A arquitetura de Álvaro Siza: textos, projetos e obras” [aka “Architecture by Álvaro Siza: texts, projects and works”). Sessions take place during February, every Thursday, between 6 pm and 8 pm. Application is mandatory and deadline is 2nd February.

Dom Carlos I Avenue halted today and tomorrow due to severe weather conditions

Worsening of weather conditions, starting this Friday, 29th January, halts car traffic at Av. Dom Carlos I, in the seafront. Traffic is prohibited starting at 10 pm. Restriction to circulations is to be lifted as soon as weather conditions permit. The situation is re-assed on 30th January.

First institucional Crypto currency company in the world ramps hiring in Porto

Anchorage Digital Bank, the first company to provide crypto custody and safe trading, is hiring in Porto. The company, founded in 2017 by Portuguese Diogo Mónica and American Nathan McCauley, is now regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

The first recognised LEED building in the Iberian Peninsula stands in Porto

The student residence Milestone Porto Asprela achieved the LEED gold certification or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The building, which was formally inaugurated on 19th November 2019, is the first in the Iberian Peninsula to earn this international certification, in the Hospitality typology.
