The six winners of the Best Of Wine Tourism 2018 were announced in Porto. This prize aims at honouring excellence and innovation in the wine tourism sector. Porto played host to this event as a Great Wine Capitals Global Network member, an organisation that aggregates 10 cities and the corresponding wine-growing areas, considered the best in the world.

"Porto. For Talent" is the city's tagline at the attendance for the forthcoming Lisbon Web Summit 2017, from 6 to 9 November.

Wines from 33 producers from 11 Portuguese demarcated regions can be found in the 2nd edition of Wine Fest Porto, scheduled for 18 November at the Customs' Salão Nobre.

In five years, Porto Municipal Archive had around 170 million visitors per day, enabling the online free consultation of nearly 161 thousand documents and 47 thousand images. The i3S - Research Institute and Health Innovation of University of Porto (U. Porto) is on the spotlight once again for the best reason: Joana Loureiro, a PhD student has won the 2017 edition of the excellence award for genetic research assigned by the American Society of Genetics (SHG). This is the first time that a Portuguese researcher is awarded this challenging prize.

Rivoli features the dance performance "Dancing Grandmothers" 3 November, at 9, 30 pm. This will be a world first, which combines the urban modern world and the rural setting in South Korea, a mix of flowers, stripes and dots, folklore and electronics, movements, video, young and old. These are the ingredients to transforming the stage in Rivoli in a giant dance floor.

The auditorium of the Engineering Faculty of Porto will play host to the musical "Siddhartha", based on Herman Hesse's novel by the same name (1922), by Art Vision Collective, and direction of Ileana Citaristi, 2 November at 9.30 pm. The "Efficient Resource Management in the Framework of the Circular Economy" is the theme of the conference to be held on 6 November at the EDP's Auditorium. This event, organised under the thematic conferences cycle of the Green Project Awards, is a participation free event but prior registration is required.

Imagens do Real Imaginado [Imagined Real World Imagery] (IRI) - Photo, Cinema and Media Cycle is already an established tradition at Almeida Garrett Municipal Library. The 14th edition is held from 30 October to 4 November, organised by the Departments of Imaging Arts and Multimedia of the Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design, a school of the Porto Polytechnic Institute.
