Urban Art display covers the façade of the Bolhão Market construction site. Although utilitarian, these sidings are also a formidable opportunity to amaze passers-by by providing them a new perspective on the site. Less gloomy and rather bright and colourful.

Fifteen years after organising an art exhibition of Paula Rego's paintings, Serralves hosts an exhibit on the painter's work between 1960 and the present time. The display will be on show from 25th October 2019 till 8 March 2020.

Os Azeitonas will deliver a Hollywood golden era concert at Coliseu Porto Ageas, on 12th October, at 10pm. The band's inspiration is black and white novels from the 1930's and the 1940's Hollywood film art.

Porto Design Biennale inauguration week concludes on 28 September and kicks off this fundamental project, aimed at discussing Design from the social, technological, political and climate viewpoint, under the umbrella topic "Post Millennium Tension".

BEAST - International Film Festival takes to Porto from 28 September to 6 October, and the opening session is scheduled for 28 September at 9.30 pm in Cinema Trindade, with the national premiere of "Summer Survivors", by da Lithuanian Marija Kavtaradze.

British newspaper The Guardian picked the 25 greatest builds of the 21st century and Casa da Música, Porto, Portugal, ranks number 7 in the list. It goes like this: "Looking like a faceted concrete meteorite that crash-landed on the edge of a roundabout in Porto, the Casa da Música by OMA is one of the most spirited cultural buildings of the century".

The exhibit "Joan Miró and the Language of Signs", organised by the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, opened to the public on 25 September at the Palazzo delle Arti Napoli (PAN), in Naples, Italy. It will run till 23 February 2020.

The PDB programme includes the satellite symposium "Papanek symposium 2019 - real world: design, politics, future", on 26th September, starting at 9.30am at the Auditorium of Almeida Garrett Municipal Library and the following day, on 27th September, the Open Forum: "Portuguese Colonialism", in the same venue, led by the Decolonising Design Group.

The exhibition that celebrates women's achievements in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) is on display at the Rectory of the University of Porto till 29 October. Entrance free.

Porto/Post/Doc kicks off with the screening of the documentary "Marianne & Leonard: Words Of Love", by Nick Broomfield, in the scope of the programme Transmission, devoted to music and pop culture, on 23 November, at 9.30pm, at Rivoli.
