There are meaningful events that one is longing to take this weekend, and that could well be the visit to the exhibit "A new Age of Exploration - 130 years of National Geographic", whose display has been extended till 27th December 2020, due to the forced shutdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The new stage "Quintal Porta-Jazz", aka "Porta-Jazz backyard", brings to town eight concerts with Portuguese and foreign artists, and this weekend, on 26th July, it is time for Eurico Costa Trio, featuring Eurico Costa, guitar player from Porto, Demian Cabaud, on the double bass and Marcos Cavaleiro, on the drums. In compliance with the preventive measures under the ongoing pandemic, occupancy is limited and prior reservations is mandatory.

The European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) brings together stakeholders that are active in the area of the circular economy all around Europe and highlights best examples and effective solutions among the stakeholders network. This joint initiative by the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee highlighted LIPOR's Datacentre as a best example for the circular economy.

The Municipality of Porto carried out the official ceremony of the key handover of the first 14 houses under the affordable housing policy of Porto City Hall, namely via the municipal company Porto Vivo, SRU. These first 14 dwellings, located in Porto Historic Centre, at Morro da Sé, were assigned by the drawing of lots under the tender carried out by Porto Vivo, SRU. Today, 21st July, participants will have a go at exploring the paths that are brimming with animals and plants, particularly the over 700 species of the camellia flower that fit to that garden in Porto. The Jardim Botânico do Porto was awarded the International Architecture Awards 2019. There will be another session on 28th July, as well as on 11th, 18th and 25th August and on 8th, 14th, 22nd and 19th September. All sessions are scheduled for 9pm.

Cinema screenings are taking up again with a special programming to celebrate the occasion; the filmography by Spanish/Mexican director Luis Buñuel, which is on show at Campo Alegre from 11th June, under the "25x Buñuel" cinema cycle, features its last Buñuel screening on 26th July, with "That Obscure Object of Desire". The Urban Market - Meet Designers & Makers is back in Porto for this entire weekend. On 18th and 19th July, from 10am to 6pm, two iconic places in town, the Hard Club and Praça da Alegria, in Bonfim host this event. The event is prepared in compliance with all the Covid-19 control measures, issued by the General Directorate for Environmental Health and Porto City Hall.

The most popular film by Fellini, La Dolce Vita screens at Campo Alegre, on 6th August and marks the debut of the cinema cycle devoted to one of the great filmmakers of the Twentieth century. The cycle concludes on 10th September.

Fine art is always an engaging topic and an experience to be shared with family or friends, and as of 13th July, the Museum of FC Porto features the exhibition themed ""Dragõezinhos Ilustrados" ("Illustrated little Dragons", free translation), at the multipurpose room. The exhibit also offers activities delivered by the Educational Service of the Museum and is targeted at all ages.
