Porto hosts Concert for Peace on 5 January

The city once again embraces the honourable cause "Concert for Peace" on the first Saturday of the year, 5th January at Rivoli Theatre. The Academia de Música de Costa Cabral, ACE - Escola de Artes, Balleteatro, Bando dos Gambozinos, ESMAE - Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo and the Orquestra Juvenil de Bonjóia will take part in this solidarity event, scheduled to begin at 4 pm.

São Silvestre race gathers 15 thousand participants of 37 nationalities

This is the silver jubilee of the São Silvestre in Porto. The race will happen on 30 December and gathers 15 thousand participants of 37 nationalities. The race is part of the Christmas and New Years' Eve programming and it is organised by Runporto, with the support of Porto City Hall. As tradition, the Municipality has prepared a special plan regarding mobility issues, in order to ensure the necessary safety conditions. Authorities advise using public transport to head to downtown Porto.

Museum from Porto is the only Portuguese museum to enter the European Museum of the Year Award

The MMIPO - Museum and Church of the Misericórdia of Porto is the only Portuguese museum to take part in the competition for the European Museum of the Year Award. MMIPO, located at Rua das Flores, is celebrating its third anniversary and enters this restricted competition for the most prestigious European award in the museological domain.
