Upward trend puts U.Porto among the 300 best in the world, says the latest Quacquarelli Symonds Ranking

The latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) features the University of Porto among the universities that have showed the largest scaling in the ranking that assesses the most prestigious Higher Institutions at global level. The University of Porto ranks 295 at world level and, once again, scores first place at national level.

Kiss & ride system is at the gates of the Colégio Alemão

The students of the Colégio Alemão can now enjoy the perks of enhanced safety upon arrival to classes, with the implementation of the kiss & ride system, which the Municipality of Porto has been implementing in an increasing number of school areas in the city, within both state owned and private schools. The main goal is to ensure that by the end of the year, the signalling system is established in over fifty school areas in the city.

Fun Parks in Porto with extended opening hours except on 23 June, St John’s Eve

The new fun zones that settled in Porto in the end of May, are now able to extend their opening hours as the government has advanced the date of the new stage in lockdown easing measures. The Fun Parks, established at the Rotunda da Boavista, Jardim do Calém and Fontainhas, can operate for more hours during the day. On St. John’s Eve, and upon request by the promotors themselves, the Fun Parks close doors at 6 pm.

Joe Biden is set to define the American strategy around AI (Artificial Intelligence) and gathered a team of 12 experts in the subject to form a Task Force that will work closely with the US government in that topic. One of such experts is the Porto native Daniela Braga, founder of the DefinedCrowd startup, which is widely recognised in the sector and already collaborates with Amazon or Google.

Free surf and skate classes are the new activities that add to “Desporto no Bairro”

The second edition of the municipal programme “Desporto no Bairro” also features skate and surf classes, in addition to breaking. Children and youth willing to participate just have to show up in time to the previous scheduled sessions in each neighbourhood.
