As the saying goes, “fake it till you make it”, right? Not quite. There are experts on the side of the law and police officers that know how things work, as well. Porto Customs presents a seminar on counterfeiting, especially as regards paintings, relics and aristocratic titles, on 17 June. The event is organised by the Judiciary Police (PJ), in the framework of the celebrations of the Judiciary Police 75th anniversary. The event starts at 5.30 pm.

The University Portucalense awarded an Honorary Doctorate to the President of the Republic of Cabo Verde, Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca. The ceremony took place yesterday afternoon at the University’s Aula Magna.

For the second consecutive year, the patron Saint of the Invicta will not be celebrated, owing to the pandemic. So as to plan and prepare their joint action on the eve of St John’ Day, on 23 June, the Municipal Police and the PSP Porto met at Porto City Hall.

The Almeida Garrett Municipal Library Book Club offers readings by the greatest raconteurs of works by Portuguese writers, namely in the scope of the ‘Feminine tales’ ("Contos Femininos e Singulares"). Participation is free, upon prior registration.

The deputy Mayor of Porto City Hall, Filipe Araújo, and the chairman of the Águas do Porto Board of Directors, Frederico Fernandes, attended the official ceremony to mark the raising of the blue flags at the Praia do Molhe, a recognition by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

Porto Botanical garden will shine bright starting on 24 June, with the installation of a one-kilometre route that features 20 light experiences, sound environments, videomapping projections, and a world of illuminated dinosaurs. This nature immersive experience is called "Magical Garden".

The conclusion of the works regarding the new buildings in the area of the Carvalheiras, in Lapa and in Pereiró enabled the City Hall to increase the supply of social housing in the city. Now, there are 68 new municipal dwellings and the housing process started already.

Renowned French astronaut Thomas Pesquet did it again, as he shared a unique view of the Invicta: a stunning night picture of the city of Porto, taken from the International Space Station, about 400km above the Earth. The astronaut had already shared a stunning snap of Porto in 2017. This time, over 1.4 thousand people shared the photograph.
