Footb-all Mix exhibition to keep one's eye on the ball

The opening of the Footb-all Mix exhibition is scheduled for 14th June, at 3.30 pm, in the main hall of Porto City Council. This original initiative assembles football themed posters by renowned designers from each of the 32 countries competing in the World Cup in Russia.

Porto joins 48-hour Jam challenge to boost public services

The city of Porto has participated in the Global Gov Jam, an initiative that is held each year with the main goal of developing new solutions for the public sector. Teams from 35 cities in the world took part in this Jam event, at the same time and with a 48-hour time setting, to come up with solutions for a common topic-challenge.

Private and intimate photo collection of Frida Kahlo on show in Porto as of July 6

Newly discovered photos of the famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo will be on show at the Portuguese Photography Centre, in Porto. The exhibit "Frida Kahlo - As Suas Fotografias" [Frida Kahlo - Her photographs" (free translation)] shows the world unpublished testimonies of the artist's private life.

Air Canada operates non-stop flights Porto - Toronto from 9 June till 27 October

Air Canada just opened its offering of direct flights between Porto and its hub in Toronto, at the Toronto (Pearson) International Airport. The new service of Air Canada Rouge will be operated by the Boeing 767-300, delivering three weekly flights till 27 October 2018.

Tradition still remains when it comes to reinvent the São João hammer in Porto

The exhibit of the 7th edition of the São João Plastic Hammer Contest is on show at Palácio das Artes. In total, 112 projects, in object, 2D and video format celebrate one of the most iconic symbols of St John celebrations in Porto. The exhibit will be on show till 30 June, from Monday to Saturday. Operating hours are from 10 am to 6 pm.

FITEI 2018 kicks off 12 June with performing arts as a drive towards empowerment

Today begins the 41st edition of FITEI - International Iberian Theatre Festival. A ten-day event, themed "Empoderamentos" [Empowerment], whose fundamental goal is to celebrate theatre and performing arts in a number of stages throughout the Atlantic Front, including Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos, and also Felgueiras and Viana do Castelo.

Exhibition on football themed posters will be on show in the Main Hall of Porto City Council from 14th June to 15th July, to celebrate the World Cup. Designers from the 32 countries competing in the World Cup in Russia, were invited to represent the feeling of the "game".

"Caranguejo overdrive" by Aquela cia. premieres at Rivoli on 12th June

Brazilian theatre company, Aquela cia., premieres performance "Caranguejo overdrive" on June 12th, in the context of the Fitei 2018, the International Festival of Theatre of the Iberian Peninsula. This performance intertwines theatre and literature expression as an artistic form of launching the debate on Brazilian society nowadays, especially in Rio de Janeiro.
