The "Festival da Comida Continente", which celebrates food, is back in town on 6 and 7 July, at the City Park. One of the greatest artists in Latin Music, Luis Fonsi, the author of big hits such as "Despacito", "Imposible", "Date la Vuelta", "Échame la Culpa" or "Aquí Estoy Yo" is the headliner of the event. Porto plays host to the 7th edition of VISUM- Vision Understanding and Machine Intelligence Summer School, with the goal of debating the latest breakthroughs in AI, or as it is sometimes called Machine Intelligence.

Ocean garbage has become a sombre problem over the past years; as such, the Civil Protection and Águas do Porto, jointly with other partners will carry out an initiative that aims to foster the civic awareness of those going to the beach regarding coastal trash and clean-up while gifting treats, so as to better promote the right attitude of "from the river to the sea, litter free", in all beaches in Porto.

Rivoli features "The Secret Friend (O Amigo Secreto), on 5 and 6 July, at 9pm and at 7pm, respectively, in the framework of the Paralelo - Programme of Rapprochement to Performing Arts at the Municipal Theatre of Porto that aims at developing continued projects with diversified audiences.

"Imagine" is the theme for this sixth edition of the "Cidade mais" initiative, which runs in Porto from 5 to 7 July, at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal. Entrance is free. The programme features three days of conferences, talks, workshops, open classes, exhibitions, concerts, cinema, markets, guided tours, performances and experience sharing under the motto "Imagine".

This Wednesday evening the Trengo Circus Festival introduces its first performance "Sweet Drama" by the exquisite artist Dulce Duca. This show combines skateboards, juggling acts, theatre, music and live painting at D. João I Square, starting at 7.30pm. From 3 to 7 July, Porto hosts full five days of new circus arts in different venues in town, namely the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, the Square D. João I and the Municipal Theatre Campo Alegre.

The maiden flight of Emirate's Boeing 777-220 landed at Francisco Sá Carneiro in Porto at 2.15pm, today, 2 July. This will be the first of many as UAE's favourite airline, Emirates will operate four direct weekly flights between Porto and Dubai, "to start", as enhanced by Thierry Aucoc, Emirate's Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Europe and Russian Federation, during the welcoming ceremony that followed the flight's landing.

The traveling Inflatable Theatre settles at Praça da República on 5 July for the last screening of films for infants in the scope of the Municipal Programme "Cultura em Expansão". Entry is free.

The University of Porto has been selected by the European Commission to create one of the first 17 alliances of European universities. This community initiative will be an important step towards the realisation of a European Education Area through consortia of Europe's top higher education institutions from different Member States.

On 4 July, from 10am until 1pm, Anna Tauber, member of the team presenting the performance "Le Vide" [The Void], will visit multiple schools, where she will discuss her work and answer all the questions raised by the students.
