Lello Bookstore purchased 49 rare books by national authors and breaks its own sales record of 1800 books sold per day. The famous bookstore bought 49 books, nine letters and 28 manuscripts postcards by renowned Portuguese authors in an auction. Also noteworthy is the fact that Lello is the street bookstore that sells more books, both by national and foreign authors in Portugal, circa 1800 per day.

London's best medical student is from Porto

Miguel Campos is 23 years old, he is from Porto and was honoured "Best Medical Student" at King's College Faculty of Medicine, in London, UK, as he was the best student in his degree, in a total of 480 fellow students. The medal that King's granted Miguel Campos acknowledges the work developed over the last six years: he had the highest grade in all the theoretical and practical examinations.

Surreal urban art by AMI at a blink of an eye in Porto

"Surrealism" is the theme of this year's AMIarte edition of street art exhibition showcased in Mupis across Porto and inaugurated on 6 July. AMI is a Portuguese private, independent, non-profit, non-political NGO, whose goal is to fight poverty, social exclusion, underdevelopment, hunger and the consequences of war all around the world.

Iuventa single screening at Rivoli on 8 July

The documentary film Iuventa portrays crucial events regarding the rescue of migrants in high sea. After the screening, there will be a talk will the director, Miguel Duarte (crewman of Iuventa ship), Rafael Miranda (jurist and volunteer at the Unidade de Apoio à Vítima Migrante e de Discriminação) and moderation of Joana Manarte (a member of HuBB).
