The Treetop Walkway is about to become a reality in Porto, in the Serralves Park, as a Protocol on financial and technical cooperation has been signed between the Serralves Foundation and the Portuguese Environmental Fund, on 1 March.

Joana Caldeira, researcher at i3S - University of Porto, thinks so, and came up with a pioneer process that combines cutting-edge technology and stem cells therapy. This project granted Joana Caldeira one of the four L'Oréal Portugal Medals of Honour for Women in Science, assigned by the giant cosmetics multinational.

National civil defence services carried out a drill at Pasteleira Basic School, in Porto, on 28 February, at 2.15 pm, to celebrate International Civil Defence Protection Day. The aim of the drill was to prepare the civilian population to protect itself in the event of emergency and to reduce the risk of disaster. The drill included the simulation of a fire and all the necessary steps that have to be taken towards a more efficient disaster management.
