Casa da Música invites the general public to take part in the "Casa Aberta", i.e., Open House or Open Day programme, featuring hand-picked events, namely guided tours to the institution, film sessions, dance shows, lectures, artistic installations, open music rehearsals, and concerts with the purpose of involving the community in entrance free educational and fun activities.

Porto Jazz Orchestra invites the Spanish maestro, composer, arranger and saxophonist Jesús Santandreu to play at Casa da Música, in Porto, on 9 February, at 11 pm. Casa da Música will host an emblematic concert that will take you to the heart of the music in this special concert with a repertoire of its own, joining the orchestral colours of Porto Jazz Orchestra and Santandreu's talent.

The IndieJúnior Allianz Film Festival third edition happens in Porto from 29 January to 3 February. The novelty for this year's child and juvenile festival is the "Cinema de Colo" sessions ["Lap Child Cinema", free translation], scheduled for 2 and 3 February, at 10 am and at 10.45 am, at Rivoli. Entrance is free up to room capacity.

The city once again embraces the honourable cause "Concert for Peace" on the first Saturday of the year, 5th January at Rivoli Theatre. The Academia de Música de Costa Cabral, ACE - Escola de Artes, Balleteatro, Bando dos Gambozinos, ESMAE - Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo and the Orquestra Juvenil de Bonjóia will take part in this solidarity event, scheduled to begin at 4 pm.
