The city of Porto will play host to the first phase of a global movement aimed at finding environmental solutions and mitigating climate change. The kick off happens on July 6th, with the first Climate Change Leadership Conference. The excellence of speakers includes former US President and Nobel Peace Prize Barack Obama, Mohan Munasinghe, also Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Irina Bokova, former Director General at UNESCO.

The collective (La) Horde, with artists Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer and Arthur Harel working together, will deliver a masterclass at Rivoli, from 10.30 to 12 0'clock. The participation on this workshop is free upon presentation of the ticket to the show "To Da Bone", scheduled for 12 May, at 10 pm, in the Grand Auditorium of Rivoli.

Major player in the airplane world, United Airlines already flies to the city of Porto, Portugal. The airliner is keen to go ahead with the daily flights Porto/New York/Newark starting on 5 May 2018. This is extraordinary news for Porto and could only be accomplished due to the acknowledgment that Porto is a city for the future.

The Start&Scale 2018 in Porto is in full swing. For the third consecutive year, the city organises this major event in the context of ScaleUp Porto, with the fundamental goal of promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and technology based in Porto.

The seventh edition of the São João Plastic Hammer Contest, one of the symbols of the São João festivities is held under the motto "São João Hammer, so that I want you?" The main goal of this contest is to boost creativity and encourage everyone's participation in the redesigning of this iconic São João symbol and make it as much as possible unique.

The meeting of the National Strategy Group Work for the Integration of the Homeless, an initiative by the Presidency of the Republic, and the competent officials in the municipality of Porto was held in the city of Porto, at the former Joaquim Urbano Hospital, currently an emergency reception centre, on 2 May.

Rivoli features "Ensaio para uma cartografia" by Mónica Calle, on 3 and 4 May, in the context of the Festival DDD - Dias da Dança. "Ensaio para uma cartografia" refers to a performance based on orchestra rehearsals by great conductors and to the aesthetic dance movements of classical ballet, featuring a group of actresses dancing on stage.

This is the seventh edition of Spring On - Rito da Primavera, a Jazz Festival held at Casa da Música from 3 to 6 May, boasting names in jazz today such as trio B-Mesmo, featuring bassist Walter Areia and Elena La Conte (flute and voice) and Kristina Van de Sand (violin and voice), Paisiel (a project by drummer, percussionist and audio sculptor João Pais Filipe and saxophonist Julius Gabriel), Honest John Quintet, septet Heartbreakers, Enrico Zanisi and Roque.

The Start & Scale 2018 kicks-off in Porto on May 5th. Over seven days, the city hosts a number of key events to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and technology based in Porto.
