Phonopticon performance reinvents concepts at Rivoli

Phonopticon is brought to audiences at Rivoli, by artistic platform Sonoscopia, in the scope of the 88th Anniversary of this iconic building in Porto, on 18 and 19 January, at 4pm.

Talk about attending constructive debates: the two Portuguese Pritzker Prize, Álvaro Siza and Souto de Moura, will talk about their work during the cycle "Diálogos Cruzados", on 10 and 11 January, in Porto and in Matosinhos. Historians and architecture critics will complement the debate. Save a seat to this not-to -miss event.

Free skating classes at Ramalde Sports Park

Over the next three weekends, there are beginner's sessions in the newest Skate Park of Porto. These classes are free, although registration is mandatory, up to a limit of 20 participants per class. Please register at desporto@agoraporto.pt, until the previous Thursday of each session. Classes are held on 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 January, between 10am and 11 am.

The "Festas de S. João do Porto" are nominated for Best Festivity at the Iberian Festival Awards 2020

The 5th edition of the Iberian Festival Awards acknowledges the best in areas such as music festivals, festivities, festivals of other cultural aspects, as cinema, theatre or even gastronomy, also professional events, media partners, artists, brands, service providers and photographers. The public vote is a decision maker. Take part in the competition and vote!

Children's stories are now told in English at Porto Municipal Libraries

Throughout the year, the first Saturday of each month, Porto Municipal Libraries play host to a programme whose aim is to provide children the pleasure and the benefits of listening to fairy tales narrated in English. This initiative is organised by the British Council. Access is free.

Elisabeth Lambeck delivers a workshop on the work by Hans Van Manen at Rivoli

Performer and choreographer Elisabeth Lambeck revisits the work by Hans Van Manen with a contemporary edge. The workshops will take place at the Sala de Ensaios of Rivoli, on 11 January, at 5pm and admission costs 2,5 euros; however, upon presentation of tickets to the Companhia Nacional de Bailado / Hans Van Manen performance, admittance is free.

U. Porto wins the Erasmus+ 2019 Best Practice Awards

The University of Porto was awarded the Erasmus+ 2019 Best Practice Awards, granted by the Erasmus+ National Agency for Education and Training and by the National Agency Youth in Action.

The IndieJúnior Allianz Film Festival fourth edition happens in Porto from 28 January to 2 February. The theme for this year's child and juvenile festival is "A Viagem" ["The Voyage"], and the highlight is the work by Norman McLaren.
