The highlight of the 2018-2019 cultural season in Porto offers circus arts at its grandeur. From 13 to 16 September, the New Circus Project by Coliseu Porto Ageas, with the support of Porto Lazer celebrates the art of circus featuring over 40 free entry performances to be held in Coliseu, Batalha Square, Poveiros Square, S. Lázaro Garden and in Santo Ildefonso Plaza.

A group of researchers of INESC TEC, in Porto, has created a forest cleaner robot. The main goal of such a robot is to reduce the costs of this type of operation, which could cost up to billions of euros.

"Boom for Real: The Late Teenage Years of Jean-Michel Basquiat" (2011) by Sara Driver features the pre-fame years of the celebrated American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat in the late-'70s New York.

"Stop! Think! Lead!" is the programme that gathers in Porto students of 17 different nationalities with the fundamental goal of debating leadership and diversity, and bringing companies closer to students.

September 6 marks the opening of the new season. Discover what performances and shows are heading to Porto in the 2018/19 season, in Rivoli and Campo Alegre. This event is scheduled to start at 7 pm and it is entrance free. The season kicks off with 63 performances, in a total of 120 presentations, 14 of which international and 11 national premieres.

The Portuguese Ministry of Culture has acknowledge the Museum Brotherhood of Clérigos as member of the Portuguese Museum Network.

The "Concertos na Avenida" are back in town at Aliados on 7 and 8 September, at 10 pm. Porto will be steeped in classical music concerts by the Baroque Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra. Famous virtuoso violinist, Dmitry Sinkovsky will play Antonio Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" jointly with the Baroque Orchestra.

The Book Fair is back in Porto, in the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, from 7 to 23 September. It is fair to say that this Fair is increasingly the city's calling card for the month of September, since 2014, the first time Porto City Hall directly organised the event.

"Diet Plan for the Western Man" by Carlos Azeredo Mesquita, premieres at the Berlin Biennial, on 24th August. This project is supported by the Criatório and Porto City Hall.
