KINO - Porto will be too much of a good thing, or des Guten zu viel, as they say in German

KINO - German Film Festival is back in Porto for the first independent edition, which is co-organised by the Goethe Institut and by the Cineclube do Porto. The festival will take to Casa das Artes, from 21 and 25 May and features a comprehensive programme that includes the latest films in German language.

The nature of dance at Rivoli with "Cria"

"Cria" is the show that espouses the notion that dance performances are borne inside all of us, dancers and audiences alike. It is a matter of human nature "Nóis é Cria, não é Criado" is the name of the Contemporary dance Group that brings a performance to Porto, on 4 may, at 7pm, at Rivoli Municipal Theatre, in the context of the DDD Festival.

Non-stop presentation of three plays at mala voadora

The theatre space "mala voadora", in Porto hosts "Triple Bill"; between 12 and 14 April that theatre will present three premieres by Susana Paixão, Joana Mont'Alverne and Joana Magalhães, that will take to the stage in a continuum.

The role of Fine Arts in Painting Production is debated at FBAUP

The second edition of the ICOCEP - International Congress on Contemporary European Painting, is held in Porto from 8 to 11 April. This will be an opportunity to debate the role and place of painting, research and teaching wise, painting dissemination and practice in the European context.

"Music & Revolution" and jazz are high on the Casa da Música programming this April, May and June.

The cycle "Music & Revolution" is dedicated to the Hungarian Composer Györgi Ligeti (1923-2006), and the Spring ON! is devoted to the new values of jazz for the next three months.

Violinist Bruno Monteiro from Porto to perform in Israel

Violinist Bruno Monteiro from Porto will perform at the International Music Festival Felicja Blumental, in Telavive, Israel. The violin recital by Bruno Monteiro will take place on 28 March, at the Gallery, Mizne-Blumental Collection, in the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, at 7.30pm.

Don't miss the Vivarium Festival event at the Rectory of the UP

The Vivarium Festival is in town for this week to debate the boundaries between the living and the artificial. Such event will take place at the Rectory of Porto, on 30 march, at 2pm and will gather renowned experts in the matter, namely Charles Travis, Jean-Claude Dumoncel, Catarina Pombo Nabais, João Ribas or Francisco C. Santos, mediated by Sofia Miguens. Entry is free.

Celebrating diplomacy with the National Ballet of China at Coliseu Porto Ageas
