First Performing Arts School & Conservatory in Porto- PALLCO provides global professional training experience to pupils and welcomes international students through International Exchanges.

Porto City Hall has prepared free of charge guided tours and leisure trips to mark the International Day for Monuments and Sites on April 18. These activities will take place throughout town. The first of this tours is themed "Trajeto: memória e valor" [Route: memoir and significance], planned to revisit places of heritage significance.

You don't want to miss the next rendez-vous with contemporary art in town! Saturday, April 21, Miguel Bombarda art district opens another session of Simultaneous Openings featuring 17 new exhibits. There will be guided tours to the galleries, workshops for audiences of all ages, as well as a parallel programme of activities organised by municipal company PortoLazer.

Three architecture offices from the city of Porto are part of the Portuguese Official Representation at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, running from 26 May to 25 November, namely "i3S - Health Research and Innovation Institute - I3S - University of Porto", the "Molhes do Douro", from Architect Carlos Prata and the five temporary exhibition halls at the Fundação de Serralves Park.

House-Museum Marta Ortigão Sampaio (CMMOS) carries on mini workshops in handcraft and experimenting with materials to decorate the museum for the International Museum day on May 18th.

The traditional celebrations of San Telmo take place in Massarelos, on 14 April, organised by the Brotherhood of the "Almas do Corpo Santo de Massarelos e dos Mareantes", to honour sailors and the people of this district. The programme is scheduled to start at 4.30 pm with a procession overland and by river, to honour the men lost at sea and for the blessing of vessels.

The Grand Auditorium of Rivoli recalls the most famous opera singer ever, Maria Callas, forty years after her death, with the screening of two films on 17 April. The film Medea by Pier Paolo Pasoliniat 6.30 pm and the documentary film by Tom Volf, "Maria By Callas", at 10 pm.

Music, fireworks, traditional games, workshops and a Freedom Parade are some of the activities included in the 44th Anniversary Programme of the Carnation Revolution in Porto, on 24 and 25 April.

There will be another bridge connecting Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, as announced this morning by the Mayors of both cities. This infrastructure will be of great importance for both Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia as it will enable to enhance the existing mobility policies.

World Tai Chi Day is celebrated on the last Saturday of April and Porto will join the celebration with probably the biggest Tai Chi and Qi Gong class in Europe. The class is scheduled to begin in the morning of the 28th April and it is promoted by the Tai Chi Centre Studio, jointly with Porto City Hall, and PortoLazer, taking place at the gardens of Palácio de Cristal, the perfect setting to finding inner peace amidst everyday turmoil.
