The seaport of Leixões predicts setting new record figures on cruise activity already this year, with 113 stopovers and over 120 thousand confirmed passengers with year-on-year increases of 13% and 26%.

"Circolando" by André Braga and Cláudia Figueiredo debuts the dance show "Raio X" on 1st February, at Campo Alegre Municipal Theatre, starting at 9.30 pm. Artistic Directors André Braga and Cláudia Figueiredo launch the challenge: inquiring on the ethereal and weightlessness of things, where "lights echoe", "interstitial whites", and the "resonance of what's visible".

The 1st Literacy Summit takes place at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, between 1 and 3 November 2018 and its fundamental goal is to focus on literacy taking a much broader view by addressing technique, science and technology. Veggyflours is the telling name of the project developed by four researchers from Catholic University of Porto (UCP), who are using tomato, grape and olive residues to create functional products that are unique, with high nutritional value and that can be applied in flours, loaves, seasoning, delicatessen and dairy products.

The Faculty of Engineering of Porto University (FEUP) hosts the Talk A Bit initiative, on 20 January to debate the impact of technology on society. This is the 6th edition of this event, organised by final-year students of the Computer and Engineering Software degree. The talk A Bit is a non-profit technology conference, which has been thriving since its inception in 2013.

Porto City Hall and ACP are studying the Street Stage format of Rally de Portugal in 2018. Porto City Hall finds that the investment on the Rally de Portugal is rather an attractive investment, and in 2017, this event even without the Porto Street Stage has had a return on investment up to 137 million euros to the country.
