Porto celebrates the National Day of Historic Centres on 30 March, and the festivities feature a full programme ranging from workshops, artwork on tiles, theatre performances to Pedy paper, visit to museums and the screening of films. Entrance is free.

The Casa da Música plays host to the third edition of the National Geographic Summit, on 29 April, at 3pm, at Sala Suggia. The aim is to discuss large scale goals and what possible changes can occur to reach effective plastic waste reduction in our planet.

The renovated Water Pavilion in the City Park of Porto officially opened doors to the public on 23 March, at 10am. The design of the Water Pavilion aims to rise people attention on the issues of climate change, water scarcity and pollution of the oceans by deploying new technologies, "that just didn't exist twenty years ago", as mentioned by Mayor of Porto Rui Moreira.

The University of Porto is the final destination of this year's "International Collegiate Programming Contest", the larger and oldest programming competition among the universities of the world. UP and Porto will host the event from 1 to 6 April, with the World Finals taking place on 4 April.

Cristiana Morganti created the "Moving with Pina" ballad musical as a tribute to Pina Bausch. It will take to the stage at Teatro Campo Alegre today and tomorrow. In this "danced lecture," as Cristiana Morganti defines it, the author explores her personal and artistic experiences as a soloist with the Pina Bausch Company.

Porto Food Week (PFW) kicks off from 21 March to 30 March 2019. For ten days, the city of Porto celebrates gastronomy, from restaurant cuisines and dining rooms, to Chefs and clients, or even author cuisine and street food.

The Harmos Festival kicks off on 19 March and fifteen concerts will be held in various venues in the city of Porto, including performances at the City Hall Council Chambers, at Casa do Infante, at Casa da Música and at the Museu Romântico.

The Theatre Company "Teatro de Ferro", jointly with Sonoscopia, features the staged concert for puppets, robotic orchestra and video themed "W". It premieres on 29 March at Campo Alegre Auditorium.

Two new exhibits opened this past Saturday at the Porto Municipal Gallery. One looks into the notions of aesthetics, while the other looks at contemporary art in Porto.

The city of Porto played host to the delegation of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macau, Alexis Tam Chong Veng, on 15 March. This was a day devoted to celebrating the Porto Macau friendship, twin cities for 22 years.
